THE CURSE ON THE GREEDY

BEHIND EVERY FOTUNE THERE IS A CRIME.

In my earlier blogs, I have dealt widely with the term banker and its huge responsibilities. People puts their hard earned savings in banks trusting them to repay on demand and at such times when the savings may be recalled for their use like hospital expenses or marriages in some occasions, due to bad harvest or the time of un employment phase, recently very common, which is the most difficult period for those who lose their jobs overnight simply for no fault of them, who may have been the most hardworking and loyal of those employers. But the employer is in fact morally obliged to see that their loyal employees are paid fairly and should not be chucked out due to some bad weather or the lull periods.

I know a case where an employer gave a hand shake to his employee telling him ‘now that you have got a heart attack it will be very difficult for you to take care of your health and work at the same time , so I thought it is better for you to go home and take complete bed rest’. The employee was first relieved to feel that he has a boss, who is so kind and accommodating, only to be reminded later that was in fact a dismissal from the employment.

The clever employer later was found to be explaining to his friends it was mainly to avoid all the hospital expenses involved, the best way out of the trouble of fishing out money to save the employee. How insensitive and cruel people can be is astonishing, especially to people who trusts their bosses with the lives of his family members. Rare occasions may see those lucky ones end up in a better job. Only thanking his ruthless former employer in hindsight. Many other occasions the whole family suffers and is met with disasters not of their making.

How do we ensure fair solutions, one way of doing it may be some insurance products targeting their productive periods’ EMIs’ to be converted in to a blanket of assurance for their unemployment periods or after retirement. Feeling secured in job is the healthiest and happiest way of ensuring good life to all our citizens? Farmers too must be closely monitored by the government machinery to assist and save in times of calamities. Group insurance with transparency and backed by the government is one way of assuring them corrupt free justice. All our countries’ citizens below the poverty line should be taken good care of to begin with covering the entire farmers who are medium and small. The landless has to be guaranteed land at the cost of those individuals holding more than 100 acres.

The assistance meant for the marginal and genuinely poor farmers, in fact was gobbled up by those landlords holding more than thousands of acres. Corruption in the system is so deeply rooted that unless forced no one is willing to share their vast fortunes even when they witness the guy opposite committing suicide. How insensitive? Our society has come to rotten and cruelly selfish without an iota of compassion or sympathy.
