THE PSYCHE OF THE TERRORISTS

Terrorism has been the most potent weapon of the countries after the Second World War, when the cold war era started. All throughout human history there have been those on the evil side, for instance in Old Testament according to Christianity Eve, who was the first women on earth was tempted by evil forces, while Adam was the one with the God. From that time onwards people normally have been lured by evil thoughts easily, while those braver and righteous have always fought straight and defended with the might that is their own body guts. Cowards are the ones who actually fight hidden using the camouflage of innocent civilians behind whom, these cold blooded guys will do any thing and everything just to upset and to make their so called enemies surrender or wiped off the face of the earth.

The countries which started espionage and covert wars in the beginning were either from the US side [CIA] or the erstwhile USSR [KGB]. These two super powers started on their respective differences of Communism sponsored by USSR while Capitalism by US. Both were guilty of dragging more and more countries in to their side of the war mainly with the petroleum reserves discovered in the Middle East. Some of them like Libya, Iraq, Iran, and those east Europeans were with the soviets while others joined Americans’ side. Soviets used their intelligence in matters of disputes and silently erased their enemies by using KGB trained ultras that did the dirty assassinations while, the American side too caught up with the same methods using CIA trained ultras. Cold war period increased terrorism, mainly targeting individuals who were tough to deal with like the late Kennedy’s, Stalin, later Khrushchev and others who followed him till the time of Gorbachev who was the first Russian president to admit their mistakes and wanted to go on a peaceful path. But the damage has been done and there was no going back for fear of their own lives which are most precious for those cowards like our late Milosevic who always made sure that their life was saved first, while exposing their vulnerable civilians at the mercy of backfires.

Now the question is how come most of Muslim population was lured by USSR, while there were few takers for the American line. The sentimental issues of Muslims all around the world has been the tacit support given to the Jews and their nation Israel.
The simple logic behind that was that the richest Americans were Jewish and in turn was the key to finances of Capitalists countries like US. No President of US can dream of abandoning Jews and their interests, unless he was willing to abdicate his position due to the clout of the Jews over the Finance might of US in those era.

Muslim countries in the beginning tried hard to contain the nefarious activities of Israeli administration by waging wars and due to the tacit support of US and its clout always made sure that the Jews succeed and survive even when all those countries surrounding them attacked them simultaneously. [Remember the wars fought by Egypt, Syria to begin with later even Libya and Iraq joined but failed miserably to beat the Jews who were though in minority, was equal to 1:5, if one judges with the ratio of Jews and Arabs. When compared to the intelligence and latest weaponry they had, thanks to Uncle Sam and their cronies in US.
The most appalling incident I remember vaguely was the terrorists who ambushed and killed many Jews during the Munich Olympics. That was the beginning of all terrorists activities of today and has peaked now, just because of the bad times and unemployment, all these have turned out to be the triggering point and ever since, the terrorists attacks has gone on and on. In today’s environment the terrorists getting their hands to some dirty bombs have also turned to be a night mare for the entire world. When there are pirates openly hijacking a Saudi oil tanker, with oil worth a hundred million dollars only proves the power they have now and the ransom will be higher an higher as days progress.

India’s terrorism woes started with the Kashmir and Punjab first getting a taste of it in the late seventies and early eighties. We have been plagued by these worst and most in-humane activities all around India, North East, West Bengal, Tamil tigers in Sri Lanka.

Even today 90 out of 100 Tamils support the assassination of our Late. Rajiv Gandhi.
I was surprised by this observation when I got transferred back to south in Tamilnadu, and found to my utter surprise; even the educated colleagues were supporting the dastardly killing of Rajiv.

The reason was simple according to them, when India sent IPKF to Srilanka, the Tamils supported thinking, that they will save the Tamil population in Lanka who were mainly taken there to work in Tea Estates during the British era. Later they became second class citizens there and were not given chances in government jobs and as adding insult to injury they were ignored by the Lankan government. When IPKF was sent in, they were supposed to save the lives of Tamils instead IPKF who incidentally caught a leader from the Tiger Group did not know what they were supposed to do with him. High level contacts hurriedly enquired Rajiv? Who was then on a vacation to Lakshadeep in Arabian ocean and god knows who gave the idea to him; he gave instruction to hand over the leader to the Lankan Army who killed him instantly with out any trail or justice. Tamils and the Tigers never forgave him and held him responsible for the dastardly act of the Lankan army.

I am not sure anyone ever told the Gandhi family about this psyche of the Tamils.

The best way forward is to find via media negotiators to engage them in a compromise formula. There will be a lot of benefit by doing it. Firstly, we must know who those people to deal with are? Secondly their motives and grievances also can be solved if only one gets a contact with those several outfits who fights united or on their own is not clear yet. The only way of knowing is by engaging dialogues with them and to know their demands clearly so that we at least can give peace a try.
