IN SUPPORT OF REAL SOCIALISM

INEQUALITIES AND DEPRIVATION.

We have been experiencing the big corporatism wanting to further their fortunes greedily and opportunistic way. We saw, unfortunate of course, the tatas moving out of singur grudgingly.

The reason being the fact they were not allowed to take over the land of poor farmers who depended on their farms for their survival. Why is that they always target poor sundry farmers’ land only. It can be proved, there are millions of rich land lords in all those Northern states holding more than thousands of acres in their own name. Why can’t the corporate guys choose one among those big fishes and take over their one thousand or more acres of land. Then we can be sure that only one family has to be compensated, and their survival is no big issue as it is mostly at the cost of other poor people who work like slaves, hungry and dying, moreover holding such huge quantity of land in single hands in itself is the most pressing issue, which no politicians has ever addressed rather they are the ones mostly holding vast areas [coming to thousands of acres of land or more.]

If our government headed by Dr.Manmohan Singh with the able guidance of Mrs.Sonia Gandhi really wanted to see justice done to millions of farmers then they must come out with a mechanism to put a ceiling on the upper limit of land ownership. It will be then interesting to closely monitor, those who are the ones supporting such moves and those who are against it and vehemently oppose any such idea of land ceiling Act, like the one in Kerala where, the surplus land especially paddy fields, with some individuals and families were divided and given to those who were working hard only to further the wealth of very few people till the Sixties. The result was there were very few guys who are super rich while others found it very difficult to make the two ends meet. In Kerala the communist’s government had the guts to enforce the land ceiling acts in the Sixties whereby, justice was done for those millions of poor landless farmers who became land owners overnight [thanks to Mrs.K.R.Gauri amma and E M S Namboothiri.]

I want this issue to be raised at the highest level such as the parliament and watch out closely the reaction of our revered MPs and MLAs including ministers and non ministers.

We can easily find out who holds maximum land and who does not have even six feet land required to bury them. I am also sure that the media will not like the idea of publishing such truths due to the fear of the unknown and do not want to antagonize those blood suckers. The country is in the hands of a few million among our huge population; they run the affairs to suit them and also manipulate the government machinery with lure for more wealth and their vested interests. There are some others who benefit indirectly by conniving with big industrialists and reaping the benefit at the cost of our poor farmers. The news of farmer suicides is trivial for these parasites. Most of the unrest and insurgency is directly the result of these disparities. We can not ignore the tell tale signs of frustration of the unemployed youth any longer nor can we control their anguish beyond a point of no return. May god save our countrymen?
